Getting to know you

We want to get to know you and we want to help you understand us.

We have a number of documents to talk through and questions to ask within our Client Profile to obtain the information we need to make the necessary assessment and recommendations for the most suitable investment strategy for you.

2

Establishing objectives

Everybody has individual and often complex needs when it comes to investment strategies. Your objectives are ultimately determined by you, but we are here to help and advise along the way.

Think about what you want to get out of the investment and the timeframe you are working to. Will you need to access your funds on an ongoing basis, or do you want to build up capital over a period of time? Consider external factors such as inflation and economic uncertainties when making these decisions, as well as your dependence on returns from your investments.

Every individual’s requirements are different, as is their appetite for risk and expectations of return. The more we know about your objectives upfront, the more informed we are to make recommendations.

3

Understanding risk appetite

Arguably the most important assessment to make before agreeing an investment strategy is defining how much appetite you have for risk. People can overestimate their appetite, while others will underestimate it.

We are here to help with that decision and advise on the consequences of all possible adverse outcomes, including fluctuating market conditions, falls in value or a loss of income.

4

Setting the investment strategy

Once we understand your individual needs, we now need to translate that into a structured investment management plan. We will help you to select the best option for you, tailored to your objectives and risk appetite, using our Investment Mandates. This will include a mix of investments to form a bespoke portfolio.

When the assessments are complete and the right investment profile for you is agreed, your portfolio will be opened. It is important that we are notified of any changes to your circumstances throughout the relationship as this may impact your investment strategy.

5

Data-driven decisions

Intelligent investments are all about gathering and analysing data that forms the basis for smart decision making.

We are committed to providing you with comprehensive and informed market information from a number of data sources, including direct information from UK companies, asset managers, brokers and analysts, as well as a constant flow of market data from financial centres around the world.

6

Managing multiple portfolios

We understand that you and your spouse may want to manage your individual portfolios as if they are one. This allows you to utilise tax allowances effectively and enhance diversification, as well as reduce administration and paperwork.

We can accommodate this in cases where the appetite for risk and investment objectives are the same for both parties.
